Arizona Snowbowl is charging into the 2025–26 winter season with nearly $1.5 million in capital improvements, following a historic year of milestones and mountain momentum. The investment signals Snowbowl’s commitment to enhancing guest experience, improving terrain access, and extending the ski season at Arizona’s premier alpine destination.

The 2024–25 season was one for the books. Snowbowl opened on November 8, its earliest opening ever, and stayed open through June 1. They had a 185 day ski season last year! Only five ski areas in the US managed to stay open into late May, placing Snowbowl among an elite crew of long-season resorts. With this strong foundation, Snowbowl is doubling down on key upgrades ahead of next season.

Terrain and Snowmaking Get a Major Boost

A top priority this summer is improving terrain access across the mountain. Crews are removing dead and downed trees, reducing wildfire risk while also expanding glade skiing. The result? Healthier forests and some of the best new tree runs in Arizona. Skiers and snowboarders can look forward to new beginner-friendly and advanced terrain within the ski area boundary.

Snowbowl is also upgrading its snowmaking system, with a focus on the Humphreys Chairlift zone. These enhancements aim to get beginner and intermediate runs open earlier and keep them open later—providing more consistent coverage and reliable snow throughout the season.

Gear, Tech, and Guest Comfort in Focus

Snowbowl isn’t stopping at the slopes. This year’s capital improvements include a brand-new rental fleet, with more than 1,200 ski boots from Dalbello, Elan, and Lange, plus over 1,000 new Smith helmets. Guests renting gear will experience improved comfort, fit, and performance.

Tech upgrades are also underway. The resort is expanding Wi-Fi coverage throughout the base area, optimizing point-of-sale systems, and refining dining options to make your lunch break smoother and faster.

These efforts build on recent improvements like the Aspen Chairlift and the remodeled Agassiz Lodge Bar—part of a broader strategy to modernize Snowbowl while preserving its authentic alpine charm.

Power Pass Deals and a Shout-Out to Locals

Snowbowl’s 2025–26 Power Pass is on sale now, with prices set to increase after August 1st. One of the best values for locals? The Weekday Pass, starting at just $149, grants access on selected weekdays all season long. As always, kids 12 and under ski free all winter, making it easier for families to hit the slopes.

“These investments reflect Snowbowl’s long-term commitment to providing an authentic mountain experience,” said Angie Grubb, marketing manager at Arizona Snowbowl. “By prioritizing forest health, trail maintenance, and resort enhancements, Snowbowl strengthens outdoor recreation in Arizona, ensuring each visit is better than the last.”

Whether you’re a Flagstaff local, a desert escape artist, or a Power Pass holder chasing powder days across the Southwest, Snowbowl continues to prove it’s more than just a ski hill—it’s a destination. And with next season already shaping up to be bigger and better, the time to lock in your pass is now.
