FAQ: Writing for Après Chronicles

Do you accept completed drafts?
Pitch first. We do not accept unsolicited full drafts.

Are pieces paid?
We commission select assignments and also publish occasional guest contributions. Rates and terms are confirmed upon acceptance and depend on scope, reporting, and assets.

Can I cover a property that hosted me?
Yes—with full disclosure in the pitch and notes. Coverage must remain independent, see Ethics, Disclosures & Affiliates section above.

Can I republish my story elsewhere?
No. Once a story is accepted, edited, and published on Après Chronicles, it becomes the property of Après Chronicles. Contributors grant us full rights to the work, including the right to edit, update, and promote it across our platforms. The piece may not be republished without written permission from the editor. You are welcome to (and encouraged) to share and link to your Après Chronicles article on other sites and social media.

Do you allow affiliate links from contributors?
No. Editors manage affiliate integrations to maintain editorial standards.

What about press photos or PR copy?
Press images are fine as long as you have obtained proper usage rights. PR releases can inform reporting, but do not copy them; verify facts and write in your voice.

Will you arrange interviews or access?
Sometimes. If you need help with intros, note that in your pitch.

Can I use AI tools?
We do not accept AI-written stories and reserve the right to use detection tools if needed. While we recognize that AI can assist with light research or idea organization, it should never generate your prose, structure, or reporting.

Our mission is to publish stories that only humans can tell — pieces shaped by real travel experiences and unique perspective from the destinations we cover. Writers are expected to let their skill, curiosity, and on-the-ground insight drive their work, not algorithms.

How long until I hear back?
We try to reply within 7–10 days (faster for timely news). If you haven’t heard back after two weeks, feel free to send a polite nudge.

What makes a pitch stand out?
A timely angle, clear service value, strong access/sources, and fit for our readers (luxury-leaning ski travelers who want actionable detail).
