This week Mikaela Shiffrin officially became the greatest alpine skier of all time. She now has the most World Cup wins (100) of any alpine skier in history, men or women! The milestone is huge for Shiffrin, she had been predicted to reach her 100th World Cup win at the end of 2023 during the Killington World Cup, but unfortunately sustained injuries that kept her sidelined for two months. But she is back and is the first skier in history to have triple digit world cup wins!
To celebrate, Ikon Pass is matching donations up to $50,000 to help Shiffrin, an Ikon Pass ambassador, raise $100,000 for Share Winter Foundation.
Share Winter’s mission is to enrich the lives of youth through winter sports. They work with mountain partners and brands to reduce barriers and fees, to create opportunities for youth to ski across the United States. Donate to Share Winter here and remember Ikon Pass is matching every donation up to $50,000!
The celebration doesn’t end there! Want to see Mikaela dominate in person? Ikon Pass is hosting a giveaway to send a lucky winner on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to watch the FIS Alpine World Cup at the Stifel Sun Valley Finals. See rules and enter here.
Mikaela said, “I see this 100 victory conversation as an opportunity to bring more eyes, and ideally, more passion to the sport, I’d like to turn the spotlight to something bigger than me. Helping Share Winter bring more kids to the mountain is really meaningful. It’s far bigger than me winning 100 races. This will make that 100th victory one of the most meaningful to me.”
Mikaela is an inspiration to so many athletes and has always taken opportunities to use her platform for good. So it is no surprise that she is marking her 100th win by giving back to the community. Congratulations on 100 wins Mikaela, it is well deserved!
